Welcome to Wales - Croeso Y Cymru

The Wales Cymru news website has been set up to address the complete lack of local Welsh news which exists on the Internet today.

If the days news doesn't include knife-crime, the nations alcohol issue, or drugs, it doesn't get any exposure and to a country which is expecting to push for full devolution from the English Parliament within ten years, that just doesn't seem right.

Welsh Tourism & Leisure
And speaking of Parliament its been announced this week, (March 25th 2009), the annual marketing budget for tourism & leisure in Wales is to be cut to under £7.5 million sterling, whilst in Scotland, the allowed budget for the same purpose currently stands at £21 million.

Needless to say an industry which attracts revenues close to £500 million each year into the Welsh economy is up in arms over this decision.

Wales-Cymru hopes to go some way toward off-setting this major funding cut by offering Welsh tourism and leisure a platform on which they may undertake their own marketing and public relations for free, by broadcasting their news via the giant Google news machine. Check back for updates on this as they happen..

Local Authority News
We will also bring all the latest news from Local Authorities around the principality, many of whom actually have money to offer their communities, but no way informing the more rural towns & villages of the facts.

Without fail every single one of the 21 or so independent local authorities in Wales, collectively serving over 3 million welsh citizens, release many news reports every single week. But due to a lack of Internet marketing and distribution knowledge here in wales many of these releases are destined never to be read by the people they were written for..until today.

Expansion in times of national crisis
Regardless of the economic collapse we find ourselves struggling to deal with, new enterprise in Wales is performing extremely well on the world stage, as this report from Caerphilly Borough Council will pay witness.

To compliment this aggressive strategy, Wales Cymru will offer free press releases to all new business's operating in the Welsh markets, so if you would like us to distribute your press, contact us on the e-mail address below.

Alternatively you could bite the bullet and sign up for a free account on Wales-Cymru.Org, after which a new set of menu's will become available to you allowing you to post your news release directly on our website. You have our absolute assurances your mail address will never be shared with any third parties, nor will you be subjected to a deluge of spam.

Thank you for visiting Wales-Cymru.Org.

We wish you a fruitful and prosperous 2009.
