Its a sad indictment of our times when the elected representatives making decisions on our behalf, do so safe in the knowledge they are not going to have to live with the consequences of those decisions.
It must make the difficult decisions a lot easier to make.
As Cardiff Council ponders the decision to move over to fortnightly refuse collections whilst at the same time insisting residents undertake the lions share of the recycling duties there remains a hard-core of residents who are likely to fight the new initiative all the way to court, where they will most likely find themselves fined £100 for their trouble.
